In the Amway business, meeting people is what we get paid for. Yes turning to someone in the elevator, or while waiting in line and find out about them. Just the mere question of “Hello, hope you are having a great day too?” will start a conversation that can go anywhere you want it.
I was on a plane a couple of weeks ago and sat next to a gentleman and we struck up a conversation. He was in a unique business working with solar technology and power storage. Some of his products are revolutionary – really out of the box thinking.
We had a great trip to Boston that passed very quickly. After exchanging cards he asked if he could contact me to help him with his business model.
My point – you never know who you will meet and how you could help them.
People want you to show an interest in THEM and really are interested in sharing their experiences.
Yes we met again and he introduced one of his partners. As we talked it became apparent they were needing some direction to guide their business – we call it FOCUS.
My observation was that since they did not have a definition of their client, they were accepting all forms of orders and displaying a multiple venues that did not turn up work.
I have shared in previous newsletters that having a goal or definition of what you want will drive the business model. In the Amway business we call it a goal or dream. A dream is what we fight for and work hard to achieve. In business it becomes the definition of why the business moves forward and becomes successful.
What is your FOCUS? What is it you want to have that your current job will not provide? Is it more money, greater freedom, or a sense of accomplishment?
What I find is that most of our team does not realize Amway is a vehicle to achieve your goals and dreams. It rarely is the destination.
I am often reminded of that by Mike Wilson the Diamond from Atlanta. He talks consistently repeat that he got into Amway so he could quit. He realized that to get to his desire of carefree living he could use the Amway vehicle to achieve his dream.
Once reaching his dream he did quit working but kept receiving the checks from the team he built. BTW, he has a new goal of becoming an Executive Diamond and is once again building. The real reason is to be able to spend as much of his time and money with his grandchildren.
Amway is his vehicle to get what he wants.
ACTIONS FOR YOU
What to do want? Do you have a goal or a FOCUS that you want to accomplish?
You have the vehicle to make it happen. The only question is WILL YOU GET IN YOUR VEHICLE AND START IT UP?
